Your future role:

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced research scientist to join our team! As part of our qPCR team you will be responsible for the development of new assays for our Lab direct qPCR portfolio and support the IVDR compliant production of our Lab direct qPCR kits. 

Your key responsibilities include:

- Development and testing of quantitative (RT-)PCR assays for both viral and bacterial applications 
- Execution of assay and reagent trouble shooting 
- Optimization and validation of experiments 
- Handling of infectious material (BSL2) 
- Establishment of pre-analytic procedures (pathogen/cell lysis; nucleic acid extraction) 
- Support of qPCR kit production 
- Development, implementation and update of SOPs and scientific reports to document R&D results including data analysis as well as manufacturing and testing procedures 
- Effective planning to meet project deliverables and timelines 

Your ideal qualifications:

- Study of biology, chemistry, biochemistry or a related field (bachelor’s or master’s degree) 
- Completed Training as technical assistant e.g., MTA, CTA, BTA, LTA with preferably 3 years of professional experience 
- Hands-on experience in multiplex, real-time PCR techniques, DNA/RNA isolation, primer/probe design and PCR assay optimization 
- Knowledge of microbiological laboratory techniques  
- Interest in working in an environment under regulatory compliance (ISO 13485) 
- Ability to multitask and switch projects as priorities change in the lab
