Develop new ideas for crop resistance to pathogens.
Manage work packages and ensure timely delivery of milestones in the projects.
Apply state-of-the art technologies in the areas of molecular plant resistance and plant-pathogen interactions.
Collaborate with different departments at KWS and with external stakeholders (academic and industry).

PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Phytopathology or related disciplines.
Experience in the molecular analysis of plant-pathogen interactions.
Experience in protein-protein interaction (in silico, in vivo) and experience in genetic modifications of fungi (e.g. genome editing) is an advantage.
Proven project management skills.
Effective, customer-oriented communication and excellent teamwork skills.
Experience or interest in team leading is an advantage
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage
