Your Tasks
• As a part of our Global plastics technologies Team in Hilden (near Düsseldorf) you will be conducting tool qualifications and validations for the production of plastic parts for use in fully integrated systems
• You will create initial sample inspection reports in coordination with the internal inspection department or external service providers
• Change management in a regulated environment and documentation in the electronic document management system is also part of your position
• You will be conducting technical evaluation and processing of error reports
• You will also independently communicate with suppliers in German or English
Your Profile
• You have a degree in Engineering or as a technician in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification
• You bring experience in documenting tool qualifications and tool release processes and good knowledge of MS Excel
• Good knowledge in the field of plastics processing and tool technology
• Experience in change management in regulated areas is an advantage

Deine Aufgaben

Process Engineer - IVD and Life Science products (m/f/d)

The Global Technical Operations (GTO) division serves as the hub for QIAGEN's technological and process expertise as a service provider for its global manufacturing sites. The position is situated within the Process Engineering department of the GTO division.
You will lead or contribute to process development and continuous improvement projects of complex, automated manufacturing processes for IVD and Life Science products. This involves conceptualizing, planning, and conducting process and data analyses, documenting results in a comprehensible manner.
You identify and assess new manufacturing technologies for their suitability within QIAGEN. Based on this you will independently or collaboratively specify production equipment and manage procurement projects.
You will develop production concepts and business cases based on production figures, manufacturing costs, and evaluation of existing production equipments.
Your technical expertise and your network of external experts make you a key contact for our internal stakeholders (manufacturing sites, product development, procurement, etc).
You assist in risk assessments, equipment qualification, and validation.
You hold a degree in the field of life science or engineering with professional experience, or you have a relevant Ph.D. Ideally, you have three years of experience in a medical, bio-technology or pharmaceutical industry company.
You are passionate about complex, automated manufacturing processes and ideally have experience in the areas of sealing, welding and/or assembly processes of plastic components. You have a hands-on mentality and are interested in solving problems directly on the machine in the cleanroom.
You have experience in planning process analyses and data analyses. In addition, strong project management skills are desirable, and knowledge of Six-Sigma and Lean methodology is advantageous.
