Infrastructure (de.NBI) and provides a cloud infrastructure for computation, along with the

Universities of Bielefeld, Freiburg, Gießen, Heidelberg, the DKFZ, Charité ‐ BIH and the Research Centre Jülich (<a href="https://cloud.denbi.de" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://cloud.denbi.de</a>/).

The position focuses on cloud operations and development, collaboration with other cloud sites, and cloud user support.

As part of the de.NBI Cloud team you will be working on:

 Conception, procurement and operation of the hardware infrastructure

 Integration and operation of heterogenous storage resources

 Integration and operation of federated compute resources

 Integration and operation of network components

 Authentication and authorization

 Support of de.NBI Cloud users

 Handling of sensible research data

 Close collaboration with the project partners and the scientific community

 Active support for the broad user community for bioinformatical and technical questions

We expect from you:

 A scientific higher education degree (master, diploma or comparable) in

bioinformatics, computer science or a related field

 Experience with an OpenStack‐based cloud environment as user and/or administrator

The following competences are considered to be beneficial:

 Python expertise

 DevOps experiences with tools like Ansible, Terraform, Git, Kickstart

 Knowledge about network topologies and concepts like VLAN separation or Softwaredefined Networking

Experience with software defined storage systems like Ceph or Quobyte

 Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration

 Experience with information security management systems, ideally including

certification processes (ISO 27001)

 Experience with Monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Zabbix

 Team oriented but self‐reliant working habits

 Professional interaction with heterogenous user groups

 High motivation, flexibility and team spirit

 Highly proficient in both spoken and written English

 Experience with multidisciplinary scientific working habits

Research Data Analyst / Bioinformatician / Data Scientist (f/m/d)

for the Translational Clinical Genomics (Haack group). The full time position is initially limited to 2 years.

Our interdisciplinary diagnostics and research team (Haack group) at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics applies state-of-the-art genomics methods to research the molecular mechanisms of genetic diseases. As part of national and international networks, we are establishing new concepts for improved diagnostics and therapies for rare and oncological diseases. In addition to the latest technologies (e.g. long-read genome sequencing), we use integrative analyses of omics datasets for the comprehensive characterisation and improved clinical interpretation of genomic alterations. The close integration of clinic and research ensures the rapid translation of the latest scientific findings, technologies and methods into routine diagnostics. Our aim is to make these benefits available to all our patients and thus support the development of personalised therapies and preventive measures.

Specific responsibilities:

- Develop and implement statistical methods and analysis strategies to pinpoint clinically relevant genomic variation in individuals or via cohort-based approaches
- Interaction with bioinformaticians, data analysts and clinicians to introduce new features and continuously improve NGS data analysis pipeline functionality
- Participation in European research projects of the lab to develop and improve cutting edge molecular diagnostics (focus long-read technologies)
- Contribute to standardized detection/prediction and reporting of therapeutically targetable genomic variation

Your tasks:

- Minimum Qualifications Master's degree (MSc) in bioinformatics, biostatistics, human genetics, computational biology, or a related field, or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience
- Advanced degree in in bioinformatics, biostatistics, human genetics, computational biology, or a related field would substitute for experience. Strong foundation in statistical analysis and data visualization
- Familiarity with NGS data analysis under Linux
- Experience with at least one programming language, preferably Python and strong programming skills
- Ideally experience in project management and quality management procedures
- Fluency in English (min C1 level)
- Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with tools for genome, epigenome and transcriptome interpretation
- Knowledge of statistical principles and methods relevant to human genetics

Bioinformatikerin / Bioinformatiker Genomanalyse (w/m/d)

in Vollzeit und befristet auf 2 Jahre.Das Institut für Medizinische Genetik und Angewandte Genomik ist integrierter Bestandteil bei der Patientenversorgung und Forschung des Universitätsklinikums Tübingen mit internationaler Sichtbarkeit und beschäftigt aktuell mehr als 150 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter. Seit 2017 sind wir eines von 4 Sequenzierzentren der DFG (NGS Competence Center Tübingen), was es uns ermöglicht alle aktuellen Sequenziertechnologien in Diagnostik und Forschung anzuwenden.  Die Analyse von Genomen in der Krankenversorgung ist nur durch den konsequenten Ausbau eines hochspezialisierten Diagnostikteams und durch die Entwicklung einer integrierten Bioinformatik-Abteilung (mit derzeit 20 Bioinformatiker/-innen) möglich geworden.

Ihr Aufgabengebiet umfasst:

- Datenanalyse von Genome-Daten im diagnostischen Kontext: Krebs und genetische Erkrankungen
- Weiterentwicklung unserer NGS-Analysepipeline und Klinischen Entscheidungssystems megSAP (https://github.com/imgag/megSAP (https://github.com/imgag/megSAP) )
- Entwicklung von Evaluationsmethoden für die Genomanalyse
- Optional: Entwicklung der Cloud-Version von megSAP

Ihr Profil (zwingend erforderlich):

- Diplom / M.Sc. / PhD in Informatik, Bioinformatik, Biostatistik oder vergleichbaren Studiengängen
- Praktische Erfahrung mit der Analyse von Sequenzierdaten (Next Generation Sequencing Daten)
- Sicherheit im Umgang mit der Linux- Kommandozeile
- Programmierkenntnisse in objekt-orientierten Sprachen


Profil (optional):

- Erfahrung mit der NGS-Datenanalyse im Bereich Humangenetik oder Onkogenetik
- Programmiererfahrung in C++ und Qt
- Programmiererfahrung in Python oder PHP
- Kenntnisse im Bereich Webservices und Datenbanken (SQL, HTML/CSS, Flask)
- Cloud-Computing (z. B. AWS)
- Erfahrung mit Git und GitHub
