Master's degree in Physics with excellent grades
Deep interest in particle physics experiments
Prior experience and interest in programming (e.g., Python, machine learning tools) are considered a plus

Langjährige, einschlägige Erfahrung im Bereich des Betriebs von Beschleunigeranlagen
Gute organisatorische Fähigkeiten
Teamfähigkeit, Kommunikationsfähigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit
Eigenständige Mobilität auf und zwischen den verschiedenen Standorten sowie innerhalb unterirdischer Beschleunigeranlagen

Completed academic higher education (master or diploma) in physics, materials science, or a related field, or equivalent expertise, skills and experience
PhD in chemistry, physics, material science or equivalent field or qualification
Profound knowledge in beamline instrumentation and data collection at 3rd generation synchrotron beamlines
Experience in analysing data from either powder diffraction or total scattering experiments
Knowledge in the field of pharmacy, in-situ catalytic or gas sorption studies and/or battery materials
Experience in user operation and design & construction of automated experiments
Basic knowledge of programming languages, preferably Python
Excellent team worker
Excellent communication skills in English

PhD in materials science, engineering science, physics, chemistry or equivalent qualification
Extended experience with characterization of materials with (high energy) synchrotron radiation and/or scanning microscopy and/or surface sensitive X-ray diffraction methods
Extended knowledge of the corrosion of metals and /or their mechanical properties
Extended practice in conducting experiments at synchrotron radiation sources and/or scanning probe microscopy techniques
Proven leadership skills by supervision of postdocs and PhD students
Interest to work in applied and industry relevant science
Programming skills, e.g. Python & experience to analyse large data sets
Positive and engaging personality with ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication skills incl. excellent knowledge of English and ability to summarize and present project results to the scientific as well as the industrial community
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Successfully completed university degree in Physics or a related field with Ph.D. or equivalent qualification
Several years of experience in accelerator physics
Experience in the operation of accelerators
Ability to work independently in a scientific environment
Ability to communicate research results effectively, both orally and in writing, within the team and at international conferences
Readiness to take over safety relevant responsibilities
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, knowledge of German is advantageous

Strong track record and international recognition in the field of nonlinear optics and specifically parametric processes
Very good basic knowledge of electrical engineering
Experience with the setup and use of common control systems such as DOOCS or TANGO is a plus
Several years of experience in leading R&D teams including supervision of students
Experience in acquiring third - party funding
High degree of flexibility and willingness to travel
Excellent written and spoken English skills
