Your Tasks - Team leadership, coordination, and direction of the Image Simulation & Processing Systems Engineering Team - Disciplinary management, employee appointments, annual employee dialogues, performance assessment, personal development - Development of the team as a whole - Organization and chairing of team meetings to assure the know-how transfer between projects, application of lessons learnt and harmonization of methods between projects - Seek solutions for strategic, planning and organizational issues together with the head of department and with the other team leaders of the department - Drive the further development of processes and tools, as well as core competences and enabling technologies of the team and the department. - Organization of team education / specific trainings on the basis of the OHB processes and with focus on instrument simulator development linked to the development of optical payloads/instruments - Supervise design, prototyping, verification and validation of instrument end-to-end algorithms from space born instruments (e.g. imager, sounder, hyperspectral) - Develop team competences aligning to OHB strategy roadmap, e.g. on-board processing - Assure that team resources are consistent with project demands - Ensure that project work orders (sub-project agreements) or work packages are well controlled in terms of schedule, cost and work quality - Define work packages, flow-down of requirements, interface management with related disciplines, customer and subcontractors in line with the project demands. - Support technical discussion with customers and suppliers within the projects - Support major internal /external project reviews with focus on optical instrument simulators Your Qualifications - University degree or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace or equivalent - More than 10 years of relevant practical experience in optical instrument simulators, performance simulators for space projects or equivalent - Teamwork, good conceptual, analytical and organizational skills - Organized and structured attitude and process-oriented thinkingHigh degree of motivation and personal identification with the respective tasks and projects - Knowledge and experience in programming such as C++ and Python/Matlab - Knowledge and experience in Software development - Proven expertise in at least one of the following domains: spectrometer or interferometer data processing, space instrument performance simulators - Management and leadership skills and experience in leading technical teams - High reliability and responsibility, independent, proactive, strong self-motivation and ability to identify personally with goals - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural and multi-language team - Ability to work simultaneously in different projects - Fluency in (spoken/written/reading) English (German skills requested over the medium-term)
