The working group "Biotrophy and Immunity" (<a href="https://www.ipk-gatersleben.de/en/research/breeding-research/biotrophy-and-immunity" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.ipk-gatersleben.de/en/research/breeding-research/biotrophy-and-immunity</a>) aims to provide a functional understanding of the molecular processes involved in the biotic interaction between pathogens and host plants. We are looking for a highly motivated employee to support our disease-resistance research.

 Your tasks:

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Planning, performing, and evaluating priming and disease-resistance experiments.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Working with and characterization of barley TILLING mutants.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Performing and evaluating transient gene-silencing experiments via particle bombardment, VIGS, and others.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Present results at scientific reports meetings and write journal articles.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Supervision of technical assistants.

 Your qualifications and skills:

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You hold a PhD degree in the field of molecular biology, microbiology, agriculture, or a related discipline.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You have good communication skills in English for efficient work in a multicultural environment.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You have experience working with plants and plant pathogens.
