A Snapshot of Your Day 

As the Head of Mechanical Design for PEM Electrolysis Stacks, you will lead our dedicated engineering team, driving the mechanical development of PEM-electrolysis stacks from initial concept to final product. This leadership role places you at the forefront of designing innovative, safe components and stack designs that are pivotal to our green hydrogen production systems. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and our manufacturing site, you will ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

* Focus on mechanical design aspects of hydrogen stack development, focusing on the innovation and optimization of key components to improve functionality and efficiency
* Craft and execute a strategic vision for the stack mechanical design team in the discipline-specific and technological aspects of PEM electrolysis stack development
* Implement strict quality control measures and adhere to industry standards throughout the design and development process, guaranteeing the reliability and safety of our products
* Lead the process of conceptualizing, calculating, developing, and designing innovative and safe components for our electrolyzer stacks
* Close cooperation with process and production and support of manufacturing and ensure link between R&D and production
* Release of CAD designs and drawings incl. BOMs as well as keep abreast of emerging technologies and mechanical engineering trends, applying cutting-edge innovations to our stack development efforts
* Engage with suppliers and vendors to source premium materials and components, managing contracts and ensuring the timely execution of projects as well as maintain comprehensive records of design specifications, analyses, and outcomes, delivering insightful reports to stakeholders and senior management

What You Bring

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required, with a preference for advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.)
* At least 6 years of experience in mechanical design within high-performance system sectors, including direct experience in hydrogen or renewable energy technologies
* Proficiency in 3D-CAD & 2D-CAD software (preferably NX) and experience with FEA/structural simulations and calculations
* Deep understanding of electrolysis processes, especially PEM stacks, including design considerations and manufacturing practices
* Knowledge of relevant standards, such as the Pressure Equipment Directive, ensuring all designs meet industry and safety regulations
* Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in German considered a significant asset for collaborating with our multilingual team and manufacturing site
* Openness to travel, particularly to our manufacturing site in Berlin, to collaborate with on-site teams and oversee the manufacturing process
* Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams, driving project completion, and fostering an environment of innovation

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be part of an effective BIM organization at the hub. Your tasks will include working on specific BIM projects and work tasks as well as implementing a BIM execution plan across multiple projects in different phases. In addition, it will be your responsibility to communicate with project stakeholders to ensure proper and continuous data flow between all parties. Finally, you will ensure the mature quality of the overall BIM model and related documents necessary for collaboration and decision making.

How You’ll Make an Impact
* Working in an effective BIM organization at the hub
* Being part of BIM project team and maintaining daily activities
* Process BIM specific projects and work-tasks
* Work through a BIM execution plan across multiple projects through different phases
* Liaise with project stakeholders ensuring proper communication and required consistent data flow between all parties
* Ensure matured quality of the total BIM model and associated documents for collaboration and decision making

What You Bring
* University degree in technical science (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering)
* Up to three years of Experience in project execution for infrastructure projects and working with international teams
* Passion to learn about the BIM methodology, related software & tools, and data exchange strategies
* Up to three years of Experience in implementing the BIM methodology in the project execution business and the internal organization
* Develop skills regarding ISO 19650 and BIM processes and a good understanding of information handling especially for 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D
* Outstanding communication skills in English and German language (written and spoken)
* Position is also suitable for graduates from university
